The seventh annual Golden Heart Awards took place last night–the gala is a fundraiser hosted by God’s Love We Deliver, which brings nutritious meals to people who are incapable of shopping or preparing food for themselves. The woman of honor at last night’s ceremony just so happened to be Hillary Rodham Clinton and the guest list was a staggering mix of A-list models–Karlie Kloss, Doutzen Kroes, Iman–and regular old A-Listers–Anna Wintour, Michael Kors, Hillary Swank… Also, the looks were pretty great!

I honestly thought Christian Louboutin was the new Manolo Blahnik, as evidenced by the fact that they wore Louboutins obsessively in Sex and the City 2 (a terrible movie I have probably accidentally watched six or seven times). I never loved that, because Christian Louboutins are pretty uncomfortable, whereas Manolo Blahniks were very comfortable. But maybe I’ll have better luck with THIS new Manolo Blahnik. More

The sleeved wedding dress worn by Kristen Stewart in the latest Twilight installment has been the subject of heated debate around here: some of you would wear it, most of you think it’s pretty ugly. Granted, last time we discussed the gown, we were focused specifically on the affordable copy manufactured by Alfred Angelo, not the Carolina Herrera original. Here’s the real thing–with its meticulous lace details and delicate sheer back. You may notice how it’s considerably less… satin-y than the copy. Word is Herrera will make her own design available, presumably at a much, much higher price than Angelo’s. Here’s a bunch of close-ups of the dress, including her equally swirly Manolo Blahniks. More
Fashion has a complicated relationship with bigotry, whether it’s faux-provocative blackface editorials, runway shows starring exclusively white models or cultural appropriation run amok (would you like some Mickey Rooney with your American Apparel “conical Asian hat“?). Therefore, it came as no surprise when more than a few fashion luminaries stepped forward to defend former Christian Dior creative director John Galliano in the wake of his drug and alcohol-fueled rant.
