For their spring/summer 2013 ad campaign, Stuart Weitzman spent a dillion dollars to have Mario Testino shoot Kate Moss wearing just enough of their clothes to cover her naughty bits. One might think this would be a recipe for success, but there are two main problems as far as I can see: the poor use of Photoshop and the fact that she’s making the exact same face in every picture. Tom Brady plays football but the fashion industry has decided he’s just too beautiful for all that pummeling and grunting, so they’ve bestowed upon him a nebulous career in being handsome. Thus, here is Tom Brady wearing a Givenchy suit on the cover of V, photographed by Mario Testino, styled by Carine Roitfeld and interviewed by Tom Ford himself (the full-court press). The New England Patriots’ quarterback and husband to Gisele Bundchen probably said some pleasant things in that interview, but it’s Ford who says all the interesting stuff. More »

In an astonishing turn of events, news leaked this week that a thin, white, conventionally attractive blonde girl will be featured on the cover of American Vogue. That girl is “country cutie” (our preferred epithet) Taylor Swift and that issue will run in February. Here’s the full spread and–not being an asshole for once, guys!!–we like the throwback feel of the cover.

…The editorial, however? Not so much. Looks an old Fashion Rocks insert and floppy hats are still being used to signify “edgy bohemian glamor.” Swift was shot by Mario Testino wearing some monumentally ugly clothes (but also pretty Rodarte Van Gogh prints!). Take a look. More »
