Topic: meeting people is easy

Hi everybody.

My name is Ashley Cardiff and I’m joining the Gloss as an associate editor. I live in Brooklyn, I can’t whistle and I’m irrationally afraid of mountain lions. I’m originally from California, a state so endlessly beautiful and easy to occupy that if you stay there too long you will become a moral coward and eat nothing but dirt and sustainably raised grass blades specially engineered to never feel pain as you chew. I went to a private liberal arts college and came out with a deeply silly degree that enables me to talk theoretically about math (but not use it, ever), argue a position even though I’ve only adopted it for winning’s sake and remain convinced that every book worth reading was in fact written by a deceased Caucasian male. However, when the threat of becoming an aggressively over-educated car washer became too menacing, I picked up and moved to New York City. More »
