Kristen Stewart Is Unrecognizably Bodacious On W‘s September Cover

Kristen Stewart Is Unrecognizably Bodacious On W's September Cover

September covers are trickling in, which means one thing: summer is over and fashion’s big season is upon us. Or that the publishing industry is trying to move product by giving famous people dramatic makeovers. So maybe it means two things. Anyway, Kristen Stewart looks sultry and Bardot-y (it’s a word) (it’s Friday) in her W spread. Styled by Edward Enninful, Stewart wears Gucci, Max Mara, Dolce & Gabbana and more throughout. Observe… More »

Mert & Marcus’ Love Editorial Stars Supermodels, Hints At Bestiality & Necrophilia… But Is It Beautiful?

Mert & Marcus' Love Editorial Stars Supermodels, Hints At Bestiality & Necrophilia... But Is It Beautiful?

Love magazine is making quite a splash with its August issue: rolling out a bunch of different covers, featuring established top models (Lara, Mariacarla), up-and-comers (Daphne G), and young Hollywood muses (Hailee Steinfeld, Elle Fanning). The covers are all striking and moody (each star is crying, after all) but none of them so much as approach the darkness of Mert & Marcus’ editorial within, What Lies Beneath. Starring a cadre of major models–Lara Stone, Mariacarla Boscono, Saksia de Brauw, Kristen McMenamy, Guinevere van Seenus–and alludes to sex, death, myth (Leda & the Swan!), and a nightmarish mix of all three. Also, it’s full of nudity, so be warned. More »

Gallery: The First Images From Riccardo Tisciâs Very Expensive, Very Naked Issue of Visionaire Are Here

Remember when we mentioned Riccardo Tisci’s really expensive issue of Visionaire? Well, it’s out. And thankfully it’s hardcover (I don’t know if I’m joking). It’s also very, very NSFW. The issue is described as Tisci’s “meditation on the theme of religion” and explores the subject as “a synonym for obsession, ritual, worship, apparition and the celebration of humanity.” PROVIDED YOU ARE NOT AT WORK (or have a really cool job), check out Lara Stone, Marina Abramovic, and Arizona Muse and more photographed by majors like Inez & Vinoodh, Mert & Marcus and Mario Testino. Campaigns: Tom Ford Taps Victoria’s Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel As The Face Of Fall

Campaigns: Tom Ford Taps Victoria's Secret Angel Candice Swanepoel As The Face Of Fall

Every now and again, a Victoria’s Secret Angel (or other some such comparatively bodacious mannequin) snags a high fashion campaign. Although Gisele’s luxury work is never surprising, it did cause quite a stir when Adriana Lima fronted Givenchy or Miranda Kerr served as the face of Jil Sander. Candice Swanepoel already staged her high fashion coup back in February when she landed a solo spot on the cover of Italian Vogue and the accompanying Meisel-shot editorial. …But apparently that wasn’t enough, as the South African model is now the Fall 2011 face of Tom Ford, as shot by Mert & Marcus (who are shooting roughly every campaign this season). In the first few shots, she’s barely recognizable. More »

Gallery: The Cover Spread of Carine Roitfeld’s Final French ‘Vogue’ Is Here

Gallery: The Cover Spread of Carine Roitfeld's Final French 'Vogue' Is Here

A little while back, I had a minor freakout when Carine Roitfeld cast a then-(mostly) unknown Dutch model named Saskia de Brauw to be the face of her final cover at Vogue Paris. I freaked out mostly because Saskia is 1) awesome looking and 2) 29, which is (unfortunately) straight up old for a model to breakthrough. It’s a striking, strange, slightly unnerving cover (the polar opposite of Emmanuelle Alt’s inaugural cover featuring Gisele Bundchen) and here’s the accompanying editorial, which also features whitehot new-ish comer Daphne Groeneveld, who was, alas, at the more common age of 15 when she appeared on the cover of her first French Vogue. The shoot–lensed by Mert & Marcus, styled by Carine–has a seedy, off-putting, voyeuristic feel to it, as if the images were nothing more than stills from security camera footage. What do you think? Was this a strong way to go out? (Also, it’s Vogue Paris, so there’s some nip. If your workplace is not down with mostly-unsexy Fashion Nudity, you may want want to stop at slide 12). More »

Campaign Stars: Lara Stone For cK Calvin Klein Spring 2011

Campaign Stars: Lara Stone For cK Calvin Klein Spring 2011

Here’s our first look at Dutch supermodel Lara Stone in the Spring 2011 campaign for cK Calvin Klein (she’ll apparently be joined by Liu Wen in the next set of images). She was shot by power duo Mert & Marcus and styled by Karl Templer in the spare, fresh ads and almost succeeds in reminding us that Spring (and not Fall!) is just around the corner. Looks like we still have an NYFW hangover, after all. More »
