Kohl’s Lands Big Name Designer Collaboration

Kohl's Lands Big Name Designer Collaboration

After years of watching H&M create a publicity feeding frenzy with their guest designers, other big box retailers have slowly entered the designer collaboration market. Macy’s snagged Karl Lagerfeld and Giambattista Valli, while Kohl’s went the celebrity route and got Lauren Conrad and Jennifer Lopez to pretend design collections. Now, they’ve signed a real fashion gem. More »

NYFW Trends: Dress Like An Urban Warrior For Fall 2012

NYFW Trends: Dress Like An Urban Warrior For Fall 2012

Fall 2012 is showing at NYFW, which means out with the breezy dresses, the delicate prints, the bright shoes and… in with the gloom (which we’re all for). If there’s one look that landed on every major runway, it’s probably what fashion glossies like to call the “urban warrior,” a modern, usually-but-not-always minimal tough girl look for the big city. One of our current fashion obsessions is local label InAisce. The New York-based design house (pronounced: “in-äs-kə”) has only been around for a couple seasons now but has already managed to catch our attention in a big way. It’s structured, minimal, category-defying and gorgeous, in a palette of restrained pale grays, washed-out whites and blacks. Recalling all-time favorites like Comme des Garçons and Rick Owens, InAisce is perfect for cool urban girls stuck on the tundra and I can’t stop staring at their lookbook. So here it is. More »

Lust Object: Proenza Schouler Bustier Dress

Lust Object: Proenza Schouler Bustier Dress

First off, after going from $1,690 to $507, this Proenza Schouler t-shirt bustier dress is practically a Score. That’s a 70% discount on a dress so minimal it might as well not exist… in other words, it’s not going to look dated unless the entire population unites in an explosion of floral, plaids and volume such that colorblind golfers lord over the universe.
