Blake Lively‘s big red dress looks like a sexy saloon girl costume, but somehow she pulls it off and looks amazing. More

About a year ago, we rounded up “10 fashion trends that need to die right now”--and arguably our biggest vendetta was against then-hugely popular neon (well, and fucking sneaker wedges). Since then, the look has definitely lost its ubiquity on the streets–now, we see the occasional Fluro and that’s about it.
…Maybe because it’s not everywhere anymore, tiring eyeballs wherever it goes, we’ve softened a bit on our stance. Here are 12 red carpet looks that make a surprisingly compelling argument for not banning the shades outright.
Also. Some of the looks here are more neon than others. This was hard. More
Celebrities love fashion week. Not just because they get wined and dined, sit front row, skip all the lines and leave loaded down with freebies–but because they get press, for the simple act of wearing clothes. Their outfits don’t have to be inventive, interesting or even stylish–if they’re famous and anywhere within a stone’s throw of Linc Center or Milk, they’ll get photographed. For dayz.
And we’ll contribute to the problem! More
This weekend saw the annual the White House Correspondents’ Association Dinner in Washington, DC. The big news? Michelle Obama wore an uncharacteristically sexy Monique Lhuillier dress (unfortunately, no one seemed to get a decent photo of it).
However, they did get decent photos of attendees who walked the red carpet and, although we’re a day late, here’s what they wore… More

During a temporary split from Middleton, Prince William courted* Isabella Calthorpe, oft-cited by British tabloids as “the one that got away” (apparently Prince Charles gets wistful because Calthorpe is well bred or whatever).
Not so well-bred, however, that she was above inviting Hello! to her wedding. More
We’re currently in Fall 2011, Spring 2012 just showed and it’s Fall 2012 time for Bridal. Does that make sense? No? Too bad. Anyway, Fall 2012 bridal had some surprises: though there’s always a few looks with a high hemline, a few weird silhouettes and techno fabrics, this season there were also more than a few jet black wedding dresses. …That being said, there was a whole lot of lace and mermaid gowns and cap sleeves, too. Here’s our picks for the best of them, from heavyweights like Vera Wang, Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta, Carolina Herrera and more. More
It’s Bridal time (FUCK YEAH MARRIAGE)! All the heavy hitters–Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta–are showing wedding collections for Fall 2012. Interestingly, the heaviest hitter of them all, Vera Wang, was feeling pretty moody: black wedding gown levels of moody. For what it’s worth, Wang was wading into darker waters last season (she showed lots of dove gray) but still kept it pretty romantic and delicate. This collection, however, is downright goth. I don’t mean to be a completely ridiculous parody of my high school goth self but… I kind of like them? More
Fashion Week has come and gone, which leaves us to pluck out and organize the meaningful data. Spring 2012 was about a lot of things (prints! peplums! citrus shades and cutouts!) but it seemed like every catwalk hosted at least one piece in saturated blue, in all shapes and silhouettes. …Luckily, this is one trend that looks lovely on just about everyone. Here’s all the cobalt, ultramarine, and aqua that ruled the runways. More

After sifting through all the looks–from wedding day heavyweights like Vera Wang, Monique Lhullier and Oscar de la Renta–we’ve come up with a few of our favorites and categorized them according to mood: classic, romantic, modern. By which we mean: More
