i-D Magazine must not be among the fashion glossies hurting for funds. For their fall “Role Model” issue, i-D shot sixteen very impressive covers featuring a mixture of supermodels like Linda Evangelista and Gisele Bundchen, and up-and-comers like Jourdan Dunn and Kolfinna Kristófersdóttir. Stylistically, the covers are fairly diverse; some are in color, some in black and white, and some are styled in an ultra-modern way while others are more retro. But in each one, the model is hiding one of her eyes, which creates a nice common thread. Here are all them. More
Sometimes, Photoshop is so strange and unnatural that you have to wonder: do people even look at this stuff before it’s published? And seldom is a Photoshop hackjob this unusual that lands a cover. More
The Cannes Film Festival is no longer a thing that is happening! However, there’s still some red carpet leftovers–see Diane Kruger, Jennifer Connelly, Audrey Tautou and more in looks from the closing ceremony and various premieres/parties. Also, expect loads of models (Kate Upton, Anja Rubik, Natasha Poly) and lots of impressive fashion disasters (Paris Hilton! Tara Reid! Phoebe Price!). Until next year… More
The Cannes Film Festival: still a thing that is happening. Here’s a staggering round-up of all the Cannes red carpet stuff that happened since our last Cannes gallery. Diane Kruger is still there (and still beautiful) along with Jessica Chastain, Mia Masikowska, Eva Longoria, Naomi Watts and more. Also, a bunch of models have landed (Natasha Poly, Bianca Balti, Liu Wen, Barbara Palvin) and the famewhores are still trying (Phoebe Price!). More
Prada’s spring 2012 campaign casts various high profile models as iconic film archetypes on some sort of existential road trip through 60s Americana. Sounds like someone’s been talking to Don Draper. More
After initially releasing only five images yesterday morning, the Pirelli calendar has shown us the full monty with not just twelve, but twenty five whole images of naked, naked supermodels. “But there are only twelve months in a year,” you say. Are you seriously questioning why you get to see twice as many supermodel nipples? It’s an “interactive” calendar this year, so its owners can switch up the images at will.
I don’t want to harp too hard on this, but it’s sort of depressing how skinny and white this calendar is. I can (sort of) understand wanting a unified look when presenting a collection on a runway, but when all the models are wearing is their nudity, it’s sort of like seeing the same outfit over and over again, and visually, I find that a bit boring. This is a beautiful collection of photos, but I think it would be even more fun to look at if they changed it up a little more from photo to photo. But I realize I’m in the minority on this.
The first images from the 2012 Pirelli calendar are here, and they’re so naked I couldn’t even make a slideshow out of them because it would’ve put, like, twenty nipples on our homepage. Let’s take a look! (And/or bookmark it for when you’re not at work.) More

Terry Richardson does one thing now: he feeds simple carbohydrates to spectacular-looking women in designer clothes under harsh lights. That’s his shtick. His latest subject is Lindsey Wixson, who he shot with greasy french fries and ketchup for Purple‘s Fall 2011 issue. Richardson previously shot Wixson with a mountain of repulsive-looking spaghetti for Vogue Nippon. Oh, and he photographed Crystal Renn eating spaghetti in a disgusting manner for French Vogue. …And Natasha Poly horking cupcakes and chicken wings for French Vogue, too. And, well, here’s a gallery of gross photos of people eating by Terry Richardson. More
i-D has revealed the complete set of covers for their forthcoming Pick Me Up issue. We were initially just going to post the one featuring rapper Kreayshawn but then we thought the rest were super pretty. More
i-D‘s Pick Me Up issue is coming and we can anticipate six separate covers featuring Raquel Zimmermann, Natasha Poly, Emma Watson and…here’s Lindsey Wixson’s super ’80s contribution. More
This week, Belarussian blonde Tanya Dziahileva moved agencies to Marilyn in Paris and her new show card reads “Dyagileva.” Not such a change (and still as difficult for us native English speakers to say) but it got us thinking: so many models come from far-off places where surnames have many consonants… while other models just had plain Jane names that needed some punching up. Here’s a list of ladies who changed their names. More
