The Spring 2014 bridal collections have shown and the big surprise is… more nontraditional wedding dresses. We see this pretty regularly (dove gray, pale pink, mint green and the like), but it’s still always a surprise how polarizing it is. We’re of the opinion that no woman should feel required to wear a long white dress (or, uh, get married, for that matter) but the sight of a nonwhite gown sends others into irrational frenzy.
So, for those of you interested in/horrified by nonwhite gowns or other variously nontraditional wedding dresses, here are the latest from the Spring runways, featuring Vera Wang, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier and more. More

The 70th annual Golden Globe Awards took place last night and hopefully you enjoyed our knee jerk reactions to the (mostly boring) red carpet. Unfortunately, there weren’t a lot of stand out looks last night, so consider this best dressed list… graded on a curve.
Still, red carpet reliables like Julianne Moore and Anne Hathaway looked grand, while surprise turns from Olivia Munn, Lucy Liu and Stacy Keibler kept things interesting.
…Mildly, at least. More

Look, every day, at the office, I end up wearing the same leopard fur coat. On good days, I like to think it’s very Edie Sedgwick. On bad days it’s more Edie Beale. Lately, it’s been mostly Edie Beale. I blame it on being rainy and overly air-conditioned in here. That said, I’m about one week away from wearing some stockings as a turban.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say that this is one of the many, many reasons I could not be the Yahoo CEO. But I am relieved to know that Marissa Mayer is wearing the same cardigan absolutely everyplace. CEOs: they’re just like us. Maybe this will stop people from getting so excited when Kate Middleton wears the same dress twice in a year? No? No. Well, we can dream.

It’s Bridal time (FUCK YEAH MARRIAGE)! All the heavy hitters–Carolina Herrera, Monique Lhuillier, Oscar de la Renta–are showing wedding collections for Fall 2012. Interestingly, the heaviest hitter of them all, Vera Wang, was feeling pretty moody: black wedding gown levels of moody. For what it’s worth, Wang was wading into darker waters last season (she showed lots of dove gray) but still kept it pretty romantic and delicate. This collection, however, is downright goth. I don’t mean to be a completely ridiculous parody of my high school goth self but… I kind of like them? More
