As Fashion Month draws to a close, we must pick up the pieces and filter out the relevant information. So far, we know the Spring 2014 collections were all very Spring-y, the front rows were all very famous, and the models were all very white.
But! There were still surprises to be found in New York, London, Paris and Milan, as the accessories stole the show time and time again. Here’s 25 gorgeous, striking and occasionally very wacky bags from Fashion Month, featuring Oscar de la Renta, Victoria Beckham, rag & bone, Christian Dior, Viktor + Rolf, Lanvin and more!
The wonderful thing about fashion feuds is that for the most part, they maintain some sense of elegance and decorum, as if the people typing their angry tweets or open letters do so with their pinkies outstretched. More
The hair at NYFW was pretty restrained all week–with lots of designers showing simple side parts and effortless, softly waving hair.
But a few shows turned out the old runway tricks–giant, voluminous curls, Heidi braids, eye-catching accessories and some very beautiful details woven in. Here’s a sampling of some of our favorites… More
While the Spring 2014 collections have been a little same-y, they’ve brought a lot of fun, eye-catching, wearable accessories. See, for example, our roundup of the many delightful shoes.
Now, of course, it’s time for handbags. Graphic black and white was the reason for the season at NYFW–a huge portion of the bags we saw played with contrasting stripes, geometric details and houndstooth. Let’s take a closer look… More

But, thankfully, anchoring so many of Spring collections are a whole lot of wonderful, colorful, wearable shoes.
And when we say wearable, we (mostly) mean it–designers are all about chunky sandals, flatforms and sweet boots for Spring. Here’s a smattering of some lovely shoes from NYFW… More

The Spring 2014 bridal collections have shown and the big surprise is… more nontraditional wedding dresses. We see this pretty regularly (dove gray, pale pink, mint green and the like), but it’s still always a surprise how polarizing it is. We’re of the opinion that no woman should feel required to wear a long white dress (or, uh, get married, for that matter) but the sight of a nonwhite gown sends others into irrational frenzy.
So, for those of you interested in/horrified by nonwhite gowns or other variously nontraditional wedding dresses, here are the latest from the Spring runways, featuring Vera Wang, Marchesa, Monique Lhuillier and more. More
