While I understand the whole “beauty is pain” thing, I have a pretty low tolerance for any sort of discomfort, be it high heels or hot weather. More
Fashion Week has but two days left! We’ve seen a lot of the expected for Spring 2014–bright citrus colors, florals, white looks, unfortunate crop tops and more unfortunate peplums–and a little of the refreshing (trapeze tops! swing coats!). But, thankfully, anchoring so many of Spring collections are a whole lot of wonderful, colorful, wearable shoes.
And when we say wearable, we (mostly) mean it–designers are all about chunky sandals, flatforms and sweet boots for Spring. Here’s a smattering of some lovely shoes from NYFW… More

I’ve been seeing a lot of really lovely floral-print flats lately (like this gorgeous $390 pair by Jil Sander) so I put together this gallery of affordable styles. Yes, one man’s affordable is another’s extravagance. However, I can say comfortably that the shoes in the following gallery are affordable… compared to pricey designer options. Prices start at $16 and cap at $100. More
The recent ridiculous fashions at the Kentucky Derby had me thinking about what one might wear to such an outdoor event without looking like a shameless cartoon character. This got me thinking about saddle shoes, a great casual style that’s perfect for an all-day outdoor event that requires a lot of milling about and drinking bourbon cocktails. The saddle shoe (not to be confused with the very similar “spectator” shoe) is a low-heeled oxford characterized by its distinctive “saddle” usually (but not necessarily) in a contrasting color. Saddle shoes are cool and–while scoping label 80%20′s designs this morning and sad to discover their excellent saddle wasn’t available anywhere–I set about putting together a shopping guide.
Rational Jen thinks that Prada is a very successful company that has a good logical reason for making a shoe like this, and she is trying to figure out what that reason is. Asshole Jen is running around talking about how they’re fucking with her and installed a radio inside her teeth so as to fuck with her better. They will debate:
