It’s the moment* we’ve all been waiting for: Raf Simons‘ debut haute couture collection for Christian Dior walked in Paris yesterday. On a set covered from floor to ceiling with beautiful flowers, Raf sent out a collection of deceptively minimal femininity molded into the house of Dior’s iconic silhouettes. More

…Because there was less of it!
Kanye West–who we had a field day mocking last season–showed his second womenswear collection in Paris Tuesday and it would appear that he took some of that widespread criticism to heart: West showed only 20 looks and drew a few favorable comparisons to Givenchy and Costume Nationale (HAH!), thanks to his rumored army of high-profile consultants. We think the collection was still facile and incoherent, but you can decide for yourself. More
Vivienne Westwood showed her Fall 2012 collection in Paris on Saturday and Look 31 has the fashion press very curious: what do you call this thing? It’s not quite leggings, not quite a cardigan, with maybe a little romper and some tights thrown in? And pajamas? More
One of our favorite male models, Andrej Pejic, was in Paris over the weekend making a triumphant return to the Jean Paul Gaultier catwalk. More
Just look at this cow in her fancy hats! She is clearly ready for a day at the Kentucky Derby or the type of picnic that’s full of champagne and expensive chocolates! More
Remember when Kanye West presented his womenswear collection, amid so much hype and self-love, only to watch fashion critics everywhere sharpen their claws across his hubristic asshole? That was a lot of fun. Well, the famed Colette boutique in Paris has ordered the collection’s beaded heels, designed in collaboration with Giuseppe Zanotti. More
Kanye West is the type of man who will not be taken down by the critics. He will not be silenced, he will not be stopped and when he’s decided he’s done with this world, it will only be because he’s conquered it. It’s fun to be Kanye. More
Couturier Stephane Rolland is a fan of unusual statement dresses–which is why Lady Gaga‘s a fan–but he may have just designed his most unwearable yet. More

So, here’s a weird one: we were so distracted by the spectacular runway set and the exceptionally lovely clothes that we didn’t notice a bizarre little detail at Chanel… Subtly affixed to the otherwise pristine faces on the runway were little pearls, below lips and on noses, along the ears and at the eyebrow. Like piercings. Or moles…? More
The best thing about this head topping monstrosity is how it looks like it’s about to eat the face of whomever she’s standing next to. Click through to see what I mean. More
Yesterday, Sarah Burton presented yet another unsettling, hauntingly beautiful collection for the house of Alexander McQueen, and explored some of the label’s favorites tropes–gothic romance and fetishism–in the process. The palette was identifiably McQueen as well: mostly black, with dramatic monochrome and shocks of startling color (like coral!). Finally, the headgear was particularly special: hoods and masks in a riot of intricate beading and feathers that were equal parts fairy tale and nightmare. A bunch of details and many of the collection’s showstopping gowns ahead. More
The Spring 2012 Louis Vuitton show (as we mentioned) was all ladylike: Marc Jacobs crafted pretty dresses amid some frills, some metallic details, in tweed and feathers with practical pumps in a soft palette of pale yellow, robin’s egg and white. …And yes, the runway a was carrousel. However, what we talk about when we talk about Louis Vuitton is still primarily those beloved handbags: here’s the cream of the crop, featuring a whole lot of gator and at least one very clever way of embellishing that iconic logo print.
