On Monday, an anonymous retoucher filed a report for Buzzfeed Shift on the ubiquity of Photoshop, confirming what a lot of us already knew: all flaws are erased from skin, body parts are altered, mascara ads are a complete lie. Vancouver-based photographer Hayden Wood spent six years working as a “creative retoucher” and graphic artist for advertising firm Ogilvy. Basically, he’s a pro at taking images of real people and manipulating them to extreme, even unrecognizable degrees. In this series, “Living Dolls,” he takes actual human models and turns then into real-life Barbie dolls. Deeply, horribly unsettling Barbie dolls. More
