As you may already know, Karen Black, the celebrated actress who appeared in everything from Alfred Hitchcock‘s Family Plot to Easy Rider to numerous pulpy horror flicks, died today at the age of 74 after a long battle with cancer. She might not be the best known name in Hollywood these days, but she leaves behind a legacy of great roles that we would all do well to revisit, and was, by all accounts, a genuinely warm and intelligent person. From her role in Easy Rider as a prostitute with whom the male protagonists drop LSD, to her ascendance to scream queen status in Trilogy of Terror, she imbued everything she did with heart, soul, and no small amount of style.
