The biggest red carpet event of the year–the 2012 Met Gala–happened last night to celebrate the 0pening of “Schiaparelli And Prada: Impossible Conversations.” Unsurprisingly, old school Prada muses (like Milla Jovovich and Angela Lindvall) came out of the woodwork. As for the fashion? Sparkly, sheer and extremely unflattering were the orders of the day.

Ugly dresses were the least of their problems, because apparently every good makeup artist in New York was off for the night: lots of hair dye experimentations (we hardly recognized you, Jamie King and Jessica Stam), black lipstick (Lana Del Rey, Kate Bosworth, Camilla Belle), harsh brows (Kate Upton) and whatever happened to Mary-Kate Olsen.
