Kimye’s Offspring Will Not Be Getting Air Time (i.e. The Life Force Of Its Parents)

Kimye's Offspring Will Not Be Getting Air Time (i.e. The Life Force Of Its Parents)

For the next nine or so months, there will be two very, very popular babies in the news. One will belong to actual royalty for whom I often feel a bit sorry for since the woman can’t drink water without being on the cover of a tabloid, whereas the other will belong to two people who have counteracted my acid reflux medication numerous times both separately and together. But apparently, the latter will not actually suck nearly as much as we all may imagine. More »

Kim Kardashian Is In The New Tyler Perry Movie

Kim Kardashian Is In The New Tyler Perry Movie

Oh, God, it’s happened. The transformation is complete. Kim Kardashian has effectively parlayed being initially famous for a sex tape into being a movie star. I Hate Myself For Definitely Missing Jersey Shore, So Let's Take A Look Back At Its Best Contributions To Society

I distinctly remember the first time I realized I might have bad taste in television. Then, the series came out and, once it finally hopped over to Netflix, I became totally hooked. Thus began my obsession with the Gossip Girl voice. More »

SNL Brings Moving Tribute To Victims In Place Of Intro Monologue

I, like millions of people, have found myself feeling devastated over what happened last week. It is impossibly hard to turn on the news, I can’t open the newspaper and I keep crying spontaneously. Nevertheless, sometimes that is both all right and appropriate; in the case of Sandy Hook, in fact, it makes complete sense. Sometimes, no matter how much we need to smile, it just isn’t quite time to do so yet, and Saturday’s episode introduction of Saturday Night Live reminded me that sometimes, we need to be sad and feel it fully. The New Normalcy: Do We Need More TV Shows To Try To End Heteronormativity?

The New Normalcy: Do We Need More TV Shows To Try To End Heteronormativity?

When it comes to homophobia, television is no longer a place where likable characters can be outright prejudiced (thank goodness). You won’t hear the main character of a show yelling “faggot!” unless there will be some negative consequences later, nor will you the protagonists actually dislike gays unless that is seen as a major character flaw (…which it is). But the lack of obviousness and brazen anti-gay attitudes doesn’t mean the prejudice doesn’t exist on television still; instead, they’re just more subtle. More »
