The new face of Nars is everyone’s favorite person. More

For some androgynous inspiration, here are my favorite fashion idols and their ambiguously-gendered looks (that still mostly exude femininity). More
No one likes to feel like the fat kid at the table while their partner skips dinner. More
If you think about it, vampires are pretty on point with our beauty standards: pale skin, dead lips, limp like a mannequin. More
Last night, the Museum of Modern Art hosted a tribute to Tilda Swinton in New York City which, predictably, lured out some of the city’s more fashionable denizens, including Anna Wintour, Karl Lagerfeld, Alexa Chung, Jessica Biel, Karlie Kloss and more.
Here’s what they work, ranked on a scale of 1 to 10 (10 being Most Tilda). More
Let’s start by saying we’re normally not into Kate Hudson on the red carpet.
We usually find her pretty vanilla–which isn’t meant to be a dig (we just like weirder shit). When you love seeing Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett and Diane Kruger at premieres and events, Hudson’s permanently side-parted blonde waves and arsenal of super-fitted dramatic gowns feel, at best, boring and, at worst, fussy or even bizarre (or very bizarre). The Cannes Film Festival ended this weekend (but you were probably BBQ-drunk and binge-watching Arrested Development, yes?). While we love the festival for its reliably risky, glamorous and often downright weird red carpet (see above), all good things must come to an end. The new face of Chanel is one of my very favorite celebrities. I mean, really, I just absolutely adore her. She is enormously talented, stunning, chooses her roles wisely (she’s an actress, yes!) and rarely — if ever — makes poor decisions for the red carpet. Can you guess who it is? More
David Bowie has a new music video. Normally we wouldn’t be posting about this–despite David Bowie’s long and storied history of being one of the most stylish humans of all time–but apparently he decided to make this one extra special for us and smother the whole thing with Fashion. More
Every time Hollywood hosts a big awards show, The Gloss‘ intrepid deputy editor Ashley Cardiff whines about how everything looks the same. EIC Jennifer Wright, however, loves when everyone looks all classically pretty and romantic and soft.
Here, they discuss the omnipresence of Ashley’s much despised Sparkly Neutral Gown, especially among the many Golden Globes dresses. And they wonder, what does it mean to be well dressed on the red carpet? More
The People’s Chocie Awards were last night after many long months of people choosing. Sam already provided the necessary red carpet coverage but editors Jennifer Wright and Ashley Cardiff would like to focus on the most “talked about” dress of the evening: the snow white Ralph Lauren ”revenge dress” as worn by Taylor Swift. We have so many feelings! More
So it’s year end wrap-up time and this time we need to be really frank: 2012 wasn’t exactly a banner year for red carpet dressing. More
I have a terrible cold sensitivity and the idea of essentially becoming a huge Popsicle sounds horrible. That said, ice sculpture is wonderful and this is no exception. More
