Hey, it’s really nice outside in New York this week! Colder climes everywhere are just now coming out of the frost and even verging on lightweight coat weather… which is to say, it may be time for a Spring trench. The versatile, practical middle ground between winter coats and, uh, tank tops is also one of those eternally cool wardrobe essentials. So, we put together a bunch we like at a moderate price (plus one porny aspirational Burberry, of course).

A few weeks ago, we were walking by a nice boutique in our neighborhood and saw they were in the midst of a huge sale. We walked in and walked out with an amazing pair of trousers–a boyish, sensible cut in an insane print. They’ve been sitting in our closet since, slowly biding their time until the weather warms up.
This is a long way of saying that our hands down favorite warm weather trend will be acid-trip Spring prints–which is a wide category that includes florals and abstract doodles and all manner of bright colors, all of which look a little off… like they’re melting?
Anyway, it’s an awesome look that can easily be achieved for less than our $150 price cap. Just don’t go wearing more than one of these babies at once (unless you want to look like a damn fashion blogger). More

Last week we brought you a sneaker wedges Shopping Guide… but we secretly hoped you’d be pissed because they are hideous. This week we’re bringing you also-ridiculous wedge shoes but no sneakers in sight–instead, they are a riot of textures, colors and weirdness in the sub-$150 category. For those of you (like us) who tend to have a restrained aesthetic, sometimes a really oddball statement shoe can make an outfit look more deliberate.

Okay, allow us to come clean: we think sneaker wedges are horrible. Absolutely dreadful. We first saw them at NYFW a few years ago and thought, “Those won’t last more than a season.” Aaaaaaaaand, we were super fucking wrong. But we still hate them.
However, the recent release of Daddy’$ Money–Sketcher’s take on sneaker wedges that sets women back more than a few decades–moved us to compile a shopping guide of alternatives. This way, no one has to support unbelievably sexist marketing/bad taste in the name of owning sporty horse hooves.

The dark, wine-ish shade of red has been dominating runways for a season or two now, at Gucci, YSL, Valentino, Alexander Wang, Alexander McQueen, Acne, Miu Miu and more (it’s also all over red carpets, especially as beauty). Sarah Jessica Parker stepped out of her Manhattan apartment this week looking all ready to attend an event as Sex & the City alter-ego Carrie Bradshaw. You may look at this photo and say to yourself, “Neon tights are a really interesting way to set off neutrals,” and you’d be right, but hopefully your first response was actually, “Holy shit!
