Stars are in London for the most whirlwind leg of Fashion Month–after a week in New York, they spend a few days in the English capital before jetting off to Milan. Ahead, we’ve got Anna Wintour, Kate Moss, Zoe Saldana, Sienna Miller, Anna Kendrick, Kelly Orsbourne and more–here’s what the rich, famous and occasionally fashionable wore to the weekend’s shows… More
This summer, red carpets were awash in midsections: Spring/Summer 2013 collections were all tropical and bright (and nostalgic for colonialism), ’90s revivalism dominated style blogs and certain young famous women became increasingly aware that outrageous outfits spawned outraged blog posts (especially effective when trying to shed one’s identity as a wholesome Disney star)–and so, over the past few months, crops and bra tops have become kind of ubiquitous on the red carpet… More
Did you know that conventionally beautiful women occasionally suffer from poor eyesight? They might even wear glasses sometimes–in public, too, and not just in the shameful darkness of their basements. Victoria’s Secret angel Erin Heatherton had the audacity to wear hers out in Sydney last night.
Astonishingly, this is a news. story. Which is absurd for at least
two two hundred reasons–not the least of which is glasses make people look hot. Both sexes. Are some people unaware of that?
Anyway, in the interest of reminding everyone that 1) hot people sometimes wear glasses and 2) glasses can even make them extra hot, here is a gallery of conventionally beautiful women brave enough to wear them. More
Mara wore a Calvin Klein Collection look for Resort 2014–a long-sleeved midnight blue crew neck crop top and black pencil skirt, along with some Brian Atwood sandals. We aren’t crazy about the severely parted hair. More
Let’s start by saying we’re normally not into Kate Hudson on the red carpet.
We usually find her pretty vanilla–which isn’t meant to be a dig (we just like weirder shit). When you love seeing Tilda Swinton and Cate Blanchett and Diane Kruger at premieres and events, Hudson’s permanently side-parted blonde waves and arsenal of super-fitted dramatic gowns feel, at best, boring and, at worst, fussy or even bizarre (or very bizarre). Over the weekend, while promoting The Hunger Games: Catching Fire at Comic Con, Jennifer Lawrence broke out of her Dior habit and tried a Proenza Schouler crop top. More
Yes, crop tops are a big Spring trend.
While they can totally work (and worked like hell at Miu Miu-look at this photo of Saskia de Brauw on the runway!), we’re really, really hesitant to even bother testing one out because a trend like this just smacks of “Man, those photos are going to be humiliating in ten years.” Then again, if you can look back fondly on high school photos featuring blue lipstick, lace-up jeans, dusters and chokers–you’re a bigger person than us. The 2013 Cannes Film Festival is occurring as we speak, though it occurred some over the weekend, too. Here’s what all those fancy people wore on the red carpet. Expect Jennifer Lawrence, Carey Mulligan, Jessica Biel, Rooney Mara, a slew of models and a couple good old Fashion Disasters. More
Zoe Saldana’s Allure cover revealed her weight to the world, and the outrage was instantaneous (including our own). But if she doesn’t care, should we? More
Last night, Vogue and MAC hosted a splashy dinner attended by equally splashy people in honor of Prabal Gurung at LA’s Chateau Marmont. Everybody loves Prabal so lots of interesting people in cool looks below–and Diane Kruger wore a belly top! More
Why did the editors feel the need to emphasize her weight on the cover? More
As somebody who has gone entire nights out without anybody mentioning she has lipstick on her teeth and possibly gums, I thoroughly appreciate people noticing when somebody else may or may not experience something embarrassing (especially if you’re a celebrity, considering you can sneeze wrong and wind up on the cover of a magazine with the words “COKEHEAD” written on some Instagrammed photo of you wiping your nose).
