Fashion loves itself some pointless, puerile provocation–and no kind more than it loves co-opting religious figures and iconography in wacky/sexy/edgy situations. More
Nashville star Hayden Panettiere lands the cover of Glamour‘s May issue–looking quite lovely, we might add. The actress is a jumble of Spring-appropriate trends–namely, the omnipresent bra-top/crop-top, colorful stripes and her bold pink lip with minimal makeup (and visible freckles!).
Also visible is her infamous text tattoo–vivere senza rimipianti, a misspelling of vivere senza rimpianti–which came up during her chat with Glamour. More
For many moons now, there have been rumors that Beyonce, Queen of American magazine covers, will be paying a diplomatic visit to the realm of British magazine covers this coming sprrrrr-ing (you can ahead and pretend I’m rolling my R’s, even though I can’t do that in real life). Specifically: the cover of Brrrr-itish Vogue. Now, we may have photographic evidence that this visit is indeed happening. More

Do you ever wonder what is going to happen to Anna Wintour in her twilight years? I often wonder that. And then I think those twilight years are going to be 200 years from now, because I am pretty sure that Anna Wintour is a vampire. Why? Because vampires are pretty steely and intelligent (you’ve never heard of a dumb vampire) and Anna has looked exactly the same for 20 years. That is just my personal theory though! I guess that is not S.I. Newhouse’s theory (or maybe it is?) because Anna Wintour is taking on the role of is taking on the additional role of artistic director of Conde Nast. So that is where she will be in her twilight years. More

You may have noticed, it’s been a very Taylor Swift year around here. If all the pert, bland pretty pretty princess-ing about was starting to bore you, good news: you’re not alone. Apparently Taylor Swift is real bad at moving copies of the magazines she covers. More

Michelle Williams is a great actress, and part of being a great actress is being able to disappear into a role and not just look like “celebrity X” up there on the screen. For their Spring/Summer ’13 issue, the always artistic AnOther Magazine took advantage of that fact and styled Ms. Williams, who is interviewed within about playing Glinda the Good Witch in Oz the Great and Powerful, in eight very different looks, from club kid to retro glamour puss to…some sort of farmer? As expected, she looks great in all of them. (Especially the farmer one.) More
